Christian Principles Touched Upon

The Parables is a map or guide on how to live a more Christian life by touching upon the following situations:

THE TRAVELING TROUPE OF THESPIAN THEOLOGIZERS, SINGERS AND CIRCUS COMPANY
Money Problems
Selfish Ambition
Balance
Worry
Responsibility
Hurtful Talk
Foolishness

THE MYSTERY OF THE PARABLE
Faith comes from hearing, and hearing the Word of God

WHAT IS A PARABLE?
Word of knowledge

THE SEED SOWER
Symbolism:
Sower= Jesus
Seed=Word
Bird=Devil
Trials=Sun
Choking Thorns=Money & Cares
------------------
Different levels of Faith
The hearts receptivity
Obstacles to Faith: devil, trials, money & cares

PRIDE AND HUMILITY
God loves the HUMBLE of heart and despises wrongful PRIDE.  Remember Lucifer, the greatest of all angels, gifted with light and music, fell from grace to become Satan, because of Pride.  Pride comes before the fall!

THE WEEDS AMONG THE WHEAT
Symbolism:
Enemy=Devil
Sower=Jesus
Field=World
Children of God=Good Seeds
Children of Devil=Bad seeds

THE MUSTARD SEED
Do not despise small beginnings.  Begin your Faith as the smallest seed and watch it grow!

THE PARABLES OF THE HIDDEN TREASURE, A COSTLY PEARL AND THE FISHNET
PRIORITIES:  Where your treasure is so is your heart.  Is Jesus and Heaven worth the price?
Giving up what comes between God and us (sin).

IDOLATRY:  Putting other THINGS before God (Remember the 1st commandment)
JOY:  In finding God’s greatest treasure for us, His son Jesus
HEAVEN:  Jesus said it lies within us so He offers us to invite Him into our hearts
COST:  Do we have to pay for our salvation/entrance into heaven, or is it given freely to us?  Who paid for it?

LEST YOU BE AS LITTLE CHILDREN
To these belong the kingdom of God because the trust in His name, they are humble, they sincerely love, and are open to God’s ways.  They always want to be near God.
Woe to those who would harm them for they will be thrown into the depths of the sea (of fire)!

THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS
God’s desire that we use the GIFTS/TALENTS He gives us for His greater glory, not for our own selfish motives
TITHING:  The importance of giving back to God’s kingdom service by contributing at least 10% of our gross earnings in church and Christian charities in money and/or “in kind” services.  He promises he will repay us 10 fold, pressed down and overflowing!  But it takes Faith and that’s the only way to please God!
STEWARDSHIP:  How we handle our money in a responsible way so as to gain interest from it for the Lord.  He likes to see that His investment in us produces much fruit!SHARING:  Sharing our gifts to help others grow such as in teaching, etc.

THE LOST COIN
REPENTANCE:  The importance of one lost sinner asking God’s forgiveness for living a sinful life and thereby being saved or “found” like the lost coin.  All the angels in heaven rejoice when this happens.  That’s how important it is!

THE DINNER GUESTS
GOD’S BANQUET:  We’re called to His dinner table to share in His delights.  Those who do not respond, for whatever reasons, will be passed over and others, less fortunate in worldly terms, will be invited to take their place.  These will come because it becomes their PRIORITY in love!
